Diane Alston
|
Dr. Diane Alston works on a variety of commodities important to Utah, including tree fruits and onions. She serves as IPM Coordinator for the state of Utah. Her specialty is IPM in tree fruits, and her research interests include improving trapping methods for western cherry fruit fly and codling moth, suppression of fruit tree pests including cherry fruit fly and minor pests, biological control of plum curculio, and monitoring and management of onion thrips. |

Ryan Davis |
Ryan Davis is the Utah Plant Pest Diagnostic Laboratory's insect diagnostician. He identifies, classifies, and provides management recommendations for a variety of arthropod species. |

Kent Evans
|
Dr. Kent Evans is the Extension plant pathologist for the state, and works with fruit growers, grains growers, the ornamentals industry, and homeowners regarding their plant disease questions and problems. He also co-directs the Utah Plant Pest Diagnostic Laboratory. His research interests include looking at resistance to antibiotics and new control options in fire blight of apple and pear, infection evaluation and control options for fusarium head blight, plant diseases of alfalfa, and turf disease management. |

Erin Frank |
Erin Frank is the plant disease diagnostician for the Utah Plant Pest Diagnostic Laboratory, and provides diagostics and management recommendations. She also maintains the lab's extensive insect and disease database as well as coordinates Utah data with the Western Plant Diagnostic Network. |

Erin Hodgson

Dr. Erin Hodgson specializes in turfgrass and field crop entomology. She co-directs the Utah Plant Pest Diagnostic Laboratory as well as co-directs the Cooperative Agricultural Pests Survey (CAPS) program for the state of Utah. Her research interests include enhancing IPM in field and forage crops, developing sampling protocols for common alfalfa pests, and using site-specific management. Erin also enjoys teaching Master Gardeners and youth about entomology. |

Marion Murray coordinates the IPM pest advisory system for the state, serving the tree fruit industry, green industry, and small fruits and vegetables. Her current research interests include diseases of tree fruits. |
