If you are currently keeping honey bees in Utah, or if you are interested in undertaking this rewarding hobby, you may find the links below useful. Remember that Utah has laws in place that apply to beekeepers, and counties and cities may also have ordinances pertaining to beekeeping. All beekeepers are required to register with the state. One of the benefits of the monies collected from registered beekeepers is the retention of a group of bee inspectors, who help insure that we have healthy hives in Utah. The bee inspectors are also able to answer questions about beekeeping. Also listed below are links to helpful information regarding recognizing problems within the hive. If, after looking at this information, you are still unable to solve your beekeeping problem, contact the local beekeepers association, bee inspector, or the Utah Plant Pest Diagnostic Lab.
